Kuotamu and Hana Amano’s fantasy light novel, Yūsha Yamemasu: Tsugi no Shokuba wa Maōjō, is getting an anime adaptation!
Kadokawa announced on Wednesday that I’m Quitting Heroing: Next Gig Is at the Demon Queen’s Castle (Yūsha Yamemasu: Tsugi no Shokuba wa Maōjō) fantasy light novel series is inspiring a television anime that will premiere in April 2022. The official website for Yusha Yamemasu anime has released a promotional video accompanying the announcement.
A key visual (above) was also unveiled for the upcoming anime.
Yūsha Yamemasu is a story about Leo Demonhart, a hero who once saved the world from the demon army’s invasion.
Despite his heroics, he is feared and rejected by the general public. He ends up joining the demon king to revive the army, which is now on the brink of collapse.
The promo video begins with Leo presenting himself at the demon king’s court to join their army, of course, he is rejected at first but eventually finds his way inside the demon king’s castle, where he contemplates why did he even bother to save the world. His newfound employment sets him up for his new mission: to end the world.

The revealed cast includes:
- Kenshō Ono as Leo Demonhart
- Kaede Hondo as Echidna
- Shizuka Itou as Steiner
- Hitomi Ohwada as Lily
- Yumi Uchiyama as Mernes
- Tetsu Inada as Edvard
Among the staff is Yuu Nobuta (High School Fleet, Maesetsu! Opening Act, The Faraway Paladin) credited as chief director, while Hisashi Ishii (Rainy Cocoa side G, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear) is directing the series at EMT Squared.
Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombie Land Saga, to the abandoned Sacred Beasts, The Gymnastics Samurai) is in charge of series scripts. Yuki Nakano (A Destructive God Sits Next to Me, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear) is designing the characters.
