TV Anime Version of “Bungou Stray Dogs Wan!” Cast List is Newly Updated

The Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! manga is based on the original manga by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa. After the announcement in June that the spinoff manga of Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! (Bungou Stray Dogs Ruff!) will be getting a television anime, there has since been a lot of activity on that front.

The official website for Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! (Bungou Stray Dogs Ruff!) has announced new cast members with Nobuhiro Arai being the anime character designer.

The original Bungou Stray Dogs manga has inspired an anime series that currently has three seasons, with both the first and second seasons having premiered in 2016, while the third season premiered in 2019. Crunchyroll and Funimation stream the series.

The updated cast list includes:

  • Yūto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima
  • Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai
  • Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida,
  • Sumire Morohoshi as Kyōka Izumi
  • Kensho Ono as Ryūnosuke Akutagawa
  • Kishō Taniyama as Chūya Nakahara
  • Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa
  • Hiroyuki Kagura as Kenji Miyazawa
  • Yu Shimamura as Akiko Yosano
  • Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Junichirō Tanizaki
  • Chiaki Omigawa as Naomi Tanizaki
  • Rikiya Koyama as Yukichi Fukuzawa
  • Sora Amamiya as Elise
  • Mitsuru Miyamoto as Ōgai Mori

The spinoff manga was launched on Kadokawa’s Young Ace Up! manga website in December 2015. An anime film, titled Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, opened in Japan in March 2018.

The original Bungou Stray Dogs manga follows the lives of literary figures- who possess superpowers and who are members of the Armed Detective Agency- as they go about running a business and solving mysteries while encountering villains.

Hiromi Daimi (Dropkick on my Devil) will be designing the characters. Toshihiro Kikuchi (Vinland Saga, Great Pretender) is directing the anime while Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is writing the series script.

The anime will premiere on the Tokyo MX 1 channel on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
