A SECOND SEASON
The second season was announced back in August 2020. An announcement trailer, which saw magical girl Momo informing the titular demon girl Yuko/Shamiko about the second season in a dream, was released at that time.
The official title for the second season has now been revealed. It’s to be titled Machikado Mazoku 2-Chōme in Japan. As the official website revealed the title, it also revealed a teaser visual (above).
The second season will premiere next April.
Sentai Filmworks licenses the series and it describes it thus:
Yuko Yoshida is just an ordinary schoolgirl — until one day her dormant, devilish powers are unleashed by the demon Lilith! Yuko transforms into Shadow Mistress Yuko, a supernatural powerhouse with horns and a devil tail. Now she must defeat another mystical being named Momo Chiyoda, the shrine maiden of the Light Clan… who just so happens to go to Yuko’s school! But being a demonic magical girl isn’t as easy as it looks, and Yuko has a whole lot to learn before she’s ready to fulfill her destiny and take on the Clan of Light.
The first season ran from July to September 2019, with an English dubbed version of the anime that streamed in HIDIVE during August 2020. It is based on the ongoing 4-Koma manga by Izumo Itō which launched in Manga Time Kirara Carat in September 2014 and has been collected into six volumes as of February 2021.
