After the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) confirmed the cancellation of last year’s physical event, the ESA announced plans to hold a “Reimagined E3” in 2021.
And that reimagined virtual event is finally here as it will be held from June 12-June 15.
COMPANIES PARTICIPATING IN E3 2021
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has now released a press statement featuring a very strong lineup of companies that will take part in this year’s Reimagined virtual edition of E3. Square Enix already confirmed its participation last month.
The press release reads that Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco Entertainment, XSEED Games/Marvelous USA, Inc., Gearbox Entertainment, Freedom Games, Devious Eye Entertainment, Turtle Beach, Verizon, and Binge.com will participate in this year’s E3 gaming event.
According to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), these companies are preparing to bring “major announcements and reveals” to E3.
The ESA reportedly told its partners in March 2020 that it was “exploring options for an online E3 event” that summer. However, E3 did not hold an online event last year.
THE VIRTUAL EVENT
The ESA will work with media partners globally to promote and make E3 2021 available to everyone for free. Nintendo, Xbox, CAPCOM, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media had committed early to E3 2021.
Konami later announced that it would not present at the virtual event. Other developers will show their latest games and news during the event.
E3 2021 will be fully online, much like other events this summer; however, fans will be happy that they finally have the gaming event back at all!
