Rumors about Tatsuya Endo’s original manga series getting its own adaptation have been making the rounds since 2019, however, it has now been officially confirmed.

Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family manga series has been officially announced to receive a television (TV) anime series adaptation which is scheduled to begin broadcasting in 2022. Along with the news of an anime adaptation, a trailer was also released for the upcoming series.

Toho Animation has given fans a first look at the series and it sure looks good. Apart from the trailer, its first two key visuals (below) were released and fans are newly acquainted with the staff involved in the production.
It has been announced that Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi (who previously directed the Dororo reboot and Rurouni Kenshin) will be at the helm, but it will be a dual studio effort as both Wit Studio and CloverWorks will be working together to produce the series.
It has also been confirmed that Kazuaki Shimada (The Promised Neverland) will be providing the character designs and [K]NoW_NAME (Dorohedoro) will be composing the music for the series, as stated by early reports. Not only that, but Takuya Eguchi (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime‘s Souei) has also been confirmed as the first member of the Forger family, Loid Forger.

On May 13, it was announced that the Spy x Family manga is getting a novel titled Spy x Family Family Portrait. The novel is by Tatsuya Endo and Aya Yajima and consists of 770 pages with a number of illustrations drawn by the author himself. Last month, the manga exceeded 12 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The Spy x Family manga series is written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. It has been serialized since March 25, 2019, in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ app and website.
