Shoot! Goal to the Future Unveils Theme Song and Debut Date

The official website for Shoot! Goal to the Future, the first new anime based on Tsukasa Ooshima‘s soccer-themed manga Shoot! in 28 years, has announced much-needed information for the series.

The anime will premiere in July on Tokyo MXBS Fuji, TV Shizuoka, and AT-X. Musical duo, all at once, will perform the show’s ending theme song, “Rivals”. all at once is best known for performing the opening theme to the 2020 TV anime, A Destructive God Sits Next to Me.

What You Should Know About Shoot! Goal to the Future

The official website describes the sequel series as such:

Atsushi Kamiya, a former captain at Kakegawa High School and the world-renowned “courageous captain” for a famous Italian soccer team…

And Hideto Tsuji, a student at Kakegawa High School, who seems uninterested in the now-weakened soccer team…

Their meeting is the start of a new legend…

The original Shoot! TV anime aired for 58 episodes from November 7, 1993, to December 25, 1994, with animation produced at Toei Animation. The original Shoot! manga ran in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine between 1990 and 2003. The manga has over 50 million copies in print.


The revealed cast for the show consists of Chiaki Kobayashi as Hideto Tsuji, Shunichi Toki as Subaru Kurokawa, Yūki Ono as Jō Kazama, Shimba Tsuchiya as Kōhei Kokubo, Yuichiro Umehara as Atsushi Kamiya, and Kousuke Toriumi as Yoshiharu Kubo.
