The upcoming post-apocalyptic world anime titled Sabikui Bisco (Rust-Eater Bisco) has unveiled its first trailer!

The official website for the television anime of the Sabikui Bisco (Rust-Eating Bisco) light novel series by Shinji Cobkubo (Kobukubo) posted two more cast members, the first full promotional video, a new main visual (below), and a premiere date.

The post-apocalyptic adventure is based on an original novel series written by Shinji Cubkubo, with illustrations by K Akagishi and the artist known as mocha. A manga adaptation was created by Yusuke Takahashi and published on Square Enix’s Manga Up! digital platform in 2019.

The promo video previews the character voices and the series’ official website has also announced that the manga series will continue on December 15 with artist Sou Natsuki replacing Takahashi. The anime will premiere in January 2022.

The plot is described as such:

The story is set in Japan after a “Rusting Wind” has corroded everything. People live in fear of the rust that corrodes cities and life in general. A boy named Bisco Akaboshi from the despised Mushroom Guardian tribe embarks on a journey to obtain the “Rust-Eating” mushroom — a miracle drug that purifies all rust — to save his dying teacher.

During his journey, Bisco encounters Miro Nekoyanagi, a good-looking young doctor at Imihama, and together they search for a countermeasure against the rust consuming Miro’s beloved big sister.
