Aniplex and CyberConnect2 confirmed the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba PS4 game is also releasing on PS5, Xbox One, and PC. The game coming to Xbox One also means it’s automatically releasing on Xbox Series X through backward compatibility.
The game will launch sometime in 2021 in Japan.
The news is from, as we previously reported, the February 8 releasing issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The magazine leaked early, as always. Moreover, the issue for next week will include further details.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppuutan, to cite the game’s official name, was initially announced exclusively on PS4 but the PS5, PC, and Xbox One releases show Sony Aniplex plans to reach as large an audience as possible.
Switch is the sole console missing out on the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba PS4 Game. This is just a guess but it’s likely Aniplex and CyberConnect2 will also release the game on Switch sometime after the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC versions.
Only in Japan
It’s important to note Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppuutan was not announced outside Japan yet. However, a multi-platform release and an Xbox One release means it’s more likely than ever for a western release to come around.
At the end of the day, there is no way the game won’t release outside Japan, seeing the franchise’s incredible popularity.
