PROMO VIDEO UPDATE
The new promo video is quite short, lasting for one minute. Sporting goods maker YONEX is supervising and collaborating on the designs for the anime. YONEX assisted on a previous badminton anime, Hanebad!, from 2018.
ABOUT THE ANIME
The Love All Play novel was published by Poplar Publishing for four volumes from 2011 to 2014, and it is described as such:
The protagonist, Ryo Mizushima, enters a junior high school and joins the badminton club on the spur of the moment. Although there are no proper instructors at the school, Ryo’s physical strength allows him to improve to the point where he is able to participate in the prefectural tournament. Then Ryo is approached by Ebihara, the famous coach of the prestigious Yokohama Minato High School badminton club. Ryo, who is indecisive and humble, hesitates to go to the school, but his older sister, Rika, who is the top student in her third year there, gives him a strong push and he decides to go. Blessed with a coach and teammates at high school, Ryo gains the experience he’s been lacking and aims to win the Inter-High School Championship!
The tagline in the anime’s visual (below) reads, “A once-in-a-lifetime coming-of-age that hurtles at 400 km/h (250 mph), love-all play!!”
The anime’s website notes the pundits’ claim that the shuttlecock’s initial speed after a smash makes badminton the “world’s fastest sport.” The anime’s title comes from the score (love-all) at the start of a match.
Hiroshi Takeuchi (Blade & Soul, Zunda Horizon) is directing the anime at Nippon Animation and OLM. Tomoko Konparu (Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%) is supervising the series scripts and writing them with Miharu Hirami (Kodocha), Shingo Irie (Kuroko’s Basketball), and Michiko Yokote (Shirobako). Riko Kaneda is designing the characters, and Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Shaman King) is composing the music.
Madly in love with anime and football...... it's disturbing.
