Fugaku Uchiha, the father of the legendary Uchiha brothers, has long been considered one of the strongest Uchiha who ever lived. Sadly, we didn’t see him in action throughout the entire series. We, thankfully, can theorize about his powers based on every small detail we observed.
As an Uchiha, Fugaku had very strong chakra. Further, he is considered a rare genius whose nickname was Wicked Eye Fugaku. His talents were comparable to Minato Namikaze and the Sannin, even viewed by many as a prime candidate to become Fourth Hokage. His abilities were so advanced that even Itachi hoped to avoid fighting him. Fugaku was known for being shrewd and sometimes brooding.
Fugaku was quite skilled with fire release and shuriken techniques. In the anime, he also uses the Shadow Clone Technique. Fugaku possessed the Sharingan. The dōjutsu granted him the ability to see chakra, predict movements, and place victims under genjutsu with a single glance. With it, he invoked powerful, elaborate genjutsu.
Fugaku was also knowledgeable about the Mangekyō Sharingan, having told Sasuke that it needs a great sacrifice to awaken. In the anime, Fugaku awakens the Mangekyō Sharingan during the Third Great Shinobi War after his friend sacrifices himself to save him.
In the form of three dots with three curves spiraling counter-clockwise around the pupil, Fugaku is confident it’s capable of controlling the Nine-Tails. We can’t get to know his unique Mangekyo technique though. Looking at his sons’ powers, it may have been Amaterasu or Dimensional switching.
So, could he have been the Madara if he lived? That’s a bit of a stretch but he, for sure, would have been an asset to the village or, at the very least, a worthy villain.
