After the 24th and final episode of Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU aired on Thursday, it was revealed that fans will not have to wait long for the continuation of the saga and unravel more mysteries of Hinamizawa.
NEW ANIME ANNOUNCED
The official Twitter account for the Higurashi: When They Cry anime franchise announced, on Friday, that the Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU television anime will get a follow-up anime titled Higurashi: When They Cry – SOTSU. This new anime will premiere in July.
Funimation announced plans to continue the simulcast and also posted a preview on Twitter. Kadokawa streamed the promotional video announcing the start of a new chapter in the saga.

The first Higurashi: When They Cry TV anime series aired for 26 episodes in 2006 and When They Cry II: Solutions (Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai) aired for 24 episodes in 2007.
Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU was initially to premiere last year in July but had to be postponed until October due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on its production process.
