“Getter Robo Arc” Anime is Going to Debut in July This Year

Following an initial announcement in November to eager fans and subsequent radio silence for numerous months, we happened to hear on the grapevine that the Getter Robo Arc anime adaptation will be premiering this summer.

The official website for the franchise was updated and it revealed a new promotional video, cast, staff, and a July 2021 debut date. The promo video features Jam Project’s song, “Storm 2021”.

THE MANGA’S PLOT

Getter Robo Arc is, chronologically, the fifth in the Getter Robo series.

The manga is described thus:

Taking place several years after Getter Robo Go, Earth is now a post-apocalyptic world. Hayato, now an aging scientist, has completed Professor Saotome’s masterpiece, Getter Robo Arc. Piloting it are Ryoma’s son Takuma, the human-dinosaur Kamui, and the younger brother of Tayel, Baku. Alongside the reformed Dinosaur Empire, they fight the insectoid Andromeda Flow Country attacking from across time and space.

The manga’s plot focuses on Andromeda and the conflicts around it. The Getter Robo Arc robot must save the world from the enemy that seeks to destroy the source of the getter rays that have devastated its civilization. However, another mysterious Getter robot that’s piloted by Ryoma Nagare’s son appears, adding more twists and thrills to an already conflicted situation.
