It has been confirmed that the Kingdom of Science will be going on another adventure soon. Dr. Stone is coming back for another adventure and this time, the crew is heading to the high seas.
The staff for the anime announced at the end of the current television anime on Thursday that a sequel will be produced.
Toho Animation released a trailer for the sequel. The video teases the “Age of Exploration” arc in which the characters travel across the sea towards an unknown world in One Piece style.
The trailer shows off Senku and the rest of the Kingdom of Science as they hop aboard a boat and sail toward an unknown land. The trailer doesn’t give away too much but it does provide a glimpse of some of the regular characters all decked out in pirate outfits that look like they came straight out of One Piece.
Toho Animation’s announcement did not specify the medium or format of the sequel. While it might just be a third season of the anime, it’s also possible that Toho turns this story arc into a feature-length film.
For now, there is not much information about this sequel. The second season of the anime was released about a year after the first but there’s not yet any official word on when this mysterious sequel will arrive.
