Cast of One Piece Recreates The Famous Lion King Scene

Recently, Toei animation dropped the long-waited One Piece movie in the theaters. As expected the movie is blowing up and The Thousand Sunny is riding full speed on the wave of good reviews from critics and fans alike.

The movie certainly managed to break Toei Animation expectation as the Stampede stomped on the previous giant release record holder Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

The Stampede facing some competition from the company who owns everything, Disney. The lion king movie remake is running alongside with the Stampede.  This has made the cast of One Piece to find a way to poke fun at the mouse who owns the lions.

The voice of Luffy (Mayumi Tanaka), and Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji) recreated the iconic lion king moment of Simba getting lifted in the air after his birth. Subsequently making Tanaka the new king of the box office this summer. Which is a friendly dib at the Disney’s lion king?

One Piece Stampede is doing really well against a remake of a classic, solely made to extract cash from nostalgia. One Piece Stampede is the first movie to cross the 3 billion yen line at the box office coming from Toei Animation. It is refreshing to see something new against a remake of the better original.

The way Disney is heading now, soon the company will start remaking the old Micky Mouse episodes But now with an actual street mouse, and call this whole thing brining the animation that we have experienced to the audience of the new generation.

When Issac Newton allegedly said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants,” he didn’t mean the same giant but bigger and has CGI-ed eyes; What’s the point in making something if you already made it years ago?
