Brace Yourselves for a “Detective Conan” Compilation Film

Detective Conan is a Japanese detective manga series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama. The popular anime and manga series is also known as Case Closed following legal problems with the original name. Detective Conan manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday since January 1994, winning the 46th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen category in 2001. Several films from the franchise have also been nominated and won several awards.

The official website for the Japanese detective anime and manga franchise has announced that the franchise will be getting a new compilation film titled Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Fuzai Shōmei (Detective Conan: The Scarlet Alibi). This compilation anime movie will be released in anticipation of the long-awaited upcoming film, Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet (Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Dangan).

Detective Conan: The Scarlet Alibi – Content

Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Fuzai Shōmei (Detective Conan: The Scarlet Alibi) will focus on the Akai family. It is expected to combine clips from various episodes of the TV anime series, all centering on the Akai family. This new project will have a theatrical run for three weeks from February 11 to March 4.

Tomoka Nagaoka, who directed Detective Conan: Fist of Blue Sapphire, will also direct this anime film. The script is written by Takeharu Sakurai. Music composition is done by Katsuo Ono.

In this compilation film, the titular character, Conan, narrates in a newly recorded and edited audio track. The end scene of the compilation film will showcase a “secret message from Shuichi Akai” that will lead up to The Scarlet Bullet film, as well as a new trailer for The Scarlet Bullet itself.
