Attack on Titan to Air Conclusion in 2023

The Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 anime ended with an announcement that the Attack on Titan The Final Season‘s “conclusion” will air on the NHK-General channel in 2023. A teaser for the final season, which is titled Attack on Titan: The Final Season, has been revealed.

Hajime Isayama launched the original Attack on Titan manga in Kodansha‘s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009 and ended the series on April 2021.

The manga received an anime adaptation by WIT Studio in 2013. Season 2 came in 2017, followed by the third season which was split into two cours. The first cour aired in the summer of 2018, while the second one started in April of 2019.

The season’s Part 2 premiered with episode 76, “Danzai” (“Sentencing”), on the NHK General channel on January 9.

Studio MAPPA took over the franchise for the fourth season which was titled Attack on Titan Final Season. It started airing in December of 2020 and had a total of 16 episodes. Following a series of twists, betrayals, and reveals about the horrific origins of the Titans, Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 aired its final episode on April 3, 2022.

Titled “The Dawn of Humanity”, episode 87 left its central characters in pursuit of Eren Yeager’s (Yuki Kaji) Founding Titan, as well as the hordes of Titans he awoke from their slumber in the walls during the Rumbling, hoping to prevent the fallen protagonist from wiping out life beyond the shores of Paradis.

Thoughts on the Final Season

This final season has been a rollercoaster of emotions for both the cast members and fans. In a recent interview, Kaji, who plays Eren, can be seen losing his voice when bringing his character to life.

Bryce Papenbrook, who voices Eren for the show’s English dub release, has also spoken about the challenges of portraying Eren in the season. In an interview, he said that his meeting with Armin and Mikasa in episode 75, “Savagery”, was difficult to record with the character’s sudden turn on his oldest, closest friends.
